and hear Lorenzo Kunze, M.E. teach his students on how this new technology works.
This may take a minute to download, depending on your computer, but it will be
worth the wait.
The lasers that can be used to remove tattoos successfully are listed below.
Note that all of these lasers are Q-Switch lasers and work at 1/1,000,000,000
(one-billionth) of a second. Lasers that are used for aesthetic purposes such
as: hair, veins, wrinkles, peels, cellulite, etc, will not work on tattoos and
can cause undo scarring and hypo-pigmentation (lightening of the skin).

orange,
yellow, etc.
532 and
1064 together
= green,
purple,
turquoise, etc.

or 755 nm

technology...
You won't believe
your eyes -
NOTE: In the past 12 months technology
has provided us with a laser that does not need to break the skin,
does not cause severe bleeding, gets rid of most colors very fast and
causes less pain to the patient. Ask about the
Cynosure
Affinity QS for a
superior treatment without the problems that were associated with laser tattoo
removal.
This laser is
designed to metabolize that tattoo ink/pigment
with
the new "SCRAMBLER" technology with minimal damage to the skin.

1. Lasers -
-
-
This course, which instructs students in the
importance of laser physics, safety, and any contraindications which may arise
in a treatment setting, must be taken first for the safety of both the student
and the instructors.
-
-
A. Laser Physics — what makes laser tattoo removal work
B. Laser Safety — treatment protocol and proper safety equipment
C. Contraindications — treatment precautions in regard to lasers
-
-
2. Patients -
-
-
Finding the correct parameters for a patient
is an essential aspect of providing a treatment that is both effective and
tolerable. Students will be able to observe tissue interaction in relation to
the laser treatment, prior to hands-on application.
-
-
A. Patient Selection — which tattoos can be treated with
results
B. Tissue Interaction — what to expect on the skin during and after treatment
C. Patient Observation — observing laser treatments prior to hands-on training

patient's skin and ink type is a necessity in providing efficacy of the laser.
Students will learn to review skin biology and origins of inks, then learn to
determine which energy level should be used in treating patients.

type.
-
-
A. Laser Parameters — learning the intensities of your laser
B. Laser Wavelengths — the depth of penetration controls laser efficacy
C. Laser Chromophores — what attracts or repels the laser energy/fluence and why
-
-
5. Tattoo Removal
-
-
-
Students will be able to understand how to
interact with the patient during the initial consultation (phone or in-person).
Explaining treatment protocol and maintenance scheduling.
-
