The Electrology Laboratory — the parent company of RMLC was founded in 1890. The company's "mission statement" at that time was to provide quality service with honest, sincere, and expected results. In 1948 they started teaching permanent hair removal and aesthetic procedures. Today, the company displays the same ethics and standards that has brought it to its current level of success.

In 1948, Walter and Helen Kunze (pioneers in the permanent hair removal profession) started the first clinic in Colorado with the idea of providing permanent hair reduction while leaving the skin smooth and showing no evidence of treatment. In the early 1950's the electrology fees were $1.50 (not a misprint) an hour, which in those days only the elite could afford the luxury of having their hair permanently removed via electrolysis. One hair could take from 5-7 minutes to remove...now more than 20 hairs can be treated in one second.

More than twenty thousand satisfied male and female customers have enjoyed permanent results (depending on skin type and hair color) provided by RMLC. This is why the RMLC is number one when it comes to teaching laser and IPL applications.

The lasers used at the college are able to treat ALL 6 skin types; including Asian, Hispanic, African-American, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern skin types.

Our Mission

RMLC provides expertise in choosing the newest laser and IPL techniques and equipment. This training expertise is provided to the public in a professional atmosphere. We constantly study the latest advances in lasers and IPL's and we train medical doctors and aesthetic technicians on the proper choice and use of this equipment.

Leadership

The president of the college is Larry "Lorenzo" Kunze, M.E. an internationally renowned board-certified medical electrologist and electrology professor who has been associated with permanent hair reduction for most of his life.

Lorenzo has spent more than thirty-five years studying, utilizing, teaching, and perfecting state-of-the-art technology in his field.

Mr. Kunze, has received his vast training of skin and hair at the Electrology Training Center (1971), Rocky Mountain Electrology School (1983) and the Rocky Mountain Laser College. Lorenzo was an early promoter of the advantages of merging electrology with the medical profession. His extensive knowledge and uncompromising dedication to excellence have brought RMLC to the level of expertise for which it is justly famous today.

His training and experience in permanent hair reduction and medical applications has made Mr. Kunze an expert in techniques for permanently removing hair (depending on skin type and hair color) in a safe, effective, and medically correct manner.

The medical director of RMLC is Dennis Kotelko, M.D., a renowned physician in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Kotelko has over 20 years experience working with a wide variety of skin problems and cosmetic procedures.
