- 1. Lasers/IPL -
- This course, which instructs students in the
importance of laser physics, safety, and any contraindications which may arise
in a treatment setting, must be taken first for the safety of both the student
and the instructors.

A. Laser/IPL Physics — what makes the laser work
B. Laser Safety — treatment protocol and proper safety equipment
C. Contraindications — treatment precautions in regard to lasers

- 2. Patients -
- Finding the correct parameters for a patient
is an essential aspect of providing a treatment that is both effective and
tolerable. Students will be able to observe tissue interaction in relation to
the laser treatment, prior to hands-on application.

A. Patient Selection — which patients will or will not benefit
B. Tissue Interaction — what to expect on the skin during and after treatment
C. Patient Observation — observing laser treatments prior to hands-on training

- 3. Hair and Skin -
- Finding the correct parameters for the
patient's skin and hair type is a necessity in providing efficacy of the laser.
Students will learn to review hair biology and growth cycles, then learn to
determine which energy level should be used in treating patients.

A. Hair Analysis — what type of hair will benefit most from laser treatments
B. Skin Analysis — what type of skin will benefit most of laser treatments
C. Hair Biology — histology of the hair
D. Hair Growth Cycles — anagen, catagen, and telogen hair cycles
E. Different Types of Hair — vellus, accelerated vellus, and terminal hair types

- 4. Using Lasers -
- Students will be instructed on the importance
of determining the proper amounts of energy (fluence, laser attraction
(chromophore), depth of penetration, skin relaxation time, and skin cooling in respect to the patient's skin and hair
type.

A. Laser Parameters — learning the intensities of your laser
B. Laser Wavelengths — the depth of penetration controls laser efficacy
C. Laser Chromophores — what attracts or repels the laser energy/fluence and why
D. Pulse Duration — how to control treatment via pulse duration

interact with the patient during the initial consultation (phone of in-person).

easier for both practitioner and clientele.

Day to Day - Schedule
This is for classes held at the
Rocky Mountain Laser College - Denver

Day 1 -
Theory / Didactic for
LHR
Theory, science and histology along with 3 Power-Point productions will be
presented on Day 1. This part of the curriculum explains the different types
of lasers used in aesthetic/medical applications. Laser Types, skin/hair
types and reasons for laser treatments. Protocols are demonstrated to assist
in the formula of how much energy, pulse duration and which laser to utilize
on each and every patient. If time permits we will fire the laser on ZAP-IT
paper in the afternoon for students to evaluate.
Day 2 - LHR
and LSO
(Safety) Hands-on w/Live Models
start first on how to be safe, with a safety test
that follows. Then the college will work with the students doing hands-on
and the "live" consultation part of the curriculum. This becomes an
essential part of the students learning. Students will be able to treat
patients and/or fellow students and have treatments done on themselves
during this very exciting day.
Day 3 - LHR
Consultations, Business Questions and Testing. We may
also have guest speakers scheduled for microdermabrasion, laser sales and
college physician.
this day will be devoted for
consultations, business concerns, laser purchasing, insurance requirements,
answering questions, testing and graduation. Consultations (both phone and
one on one), insurance requirements, marketing strategies and business
practices are reviewed in detail. Medical directorship and how to acquire a
physician to be your medical director will be discussed. How to purchase or
lease the right laser for your practice will also be discussed at length.
Class will break around 4P in the afternoon - for those who need to fly
home -

Day 4 will be for those wanting to take the LTR
(Laser Tattoo
Removal) ($1,000), LVR
(Laser Vein Removal),
LFP
(Laser Facial Peel) classes

(Laser Cellulite Class). The day will be divided up between all of
the above certificate courses. This day can also be used for an optional
hands-on day for the Laser Hair Removal graduates or the entire day can be
devoted to Laser Tattoo Removal students.
CLASS PARTY (wine, soda and snacks) - family or friends are invited.
Day 5 -
1/2 day (ending at 12N) - Hands-on and 1-on-1
consultation with Lorenzo regarding your business of employment in the
aesthetic laser business. Final TEST.

Because of the increase in the number of those wanting to
learn laser hair removal (LHR) we are doing several classes each month. This
will provide more hands-on training and adding several assistant instructors to the class.
The more students, the more questions and the more hands-on.
Class begins at 9A. Pastries, fruit, sodas and
coffee will be served at 8:30 AM each day. Lunch's are on your
own.
We feel that this new laser training format will help
those who need to get back to there homes and offices in a timely manner and at
the same time give all graduates the opportunity for additional certificates or
additional hands-on experience. The accurate knowledge obtained at the RMLC will
assist all graduates to get started in a new career in aesthetic laser
applications.Below is a schedule of the

treat wrinkles and enlarged pores.

Tattoo Removal - with a Q-Switch Nd:YAG
($40K). This is a completely
different laser - we will discuss how this laser works and
how to get into this exciting field.

Laser peels - Er:YAG laser ($35K)
for those lunch time peels or longer down time peels to remove sun/age
spots, skin tightening and smoother skin.
$500 for certificate.

The college feels that anyone going into the
LTR
(laser tattoo removal) business should take the entire CLS course.
The basic
laser class is presented
as a laser hair removal class, which deals with safety, physics, patient
selection, skin/hair analysis, laser parameters, patient care, reception,
scheduling and hands on instruction. The wrinkle, vein reduction, tattoo
removal,
micro-dermabrasion and IPL observation is an added education. If certification is needed for these procedures
contact Lorenzo for more details. Certain
states may require different training certificates or medical background in
order for graduates to provide such services.
This one-week internship will be
a chance of a life-time and is limited to availability. Only a limited number of students per
week will allowed in class (first come
basis). This is a great opportunity for
students to see how a successful practice is being managed and conducted.
6 different
types of laser will
be shown so that students can see the differences that each laser has in
conjunction with patients skin and hair types. In regard to tattoo removal and IPL; these are an added education and no certification is
given for student observation.
Cost is $3,000 US
($4,500 Canadian)
There are no-discounts and monies need to be paid

one month in advance.
