- Lorenzo's Story
-
Lorenzo was adopted at the age of 5 years old by Walter and Helen Kunze in
Denver Colorado. His adopted parents paid a grand total of $12.50 (court
cost) for Lorenzo as he was classified as dyslectic and a hard to place child in the mid
1950's. He had lived in 5 different foster care homes, an American Indian
reservation and an orphanage before being adopted.
Lorenzo is a true survivor and an extreme optimist. He feels very fortunate to
have been adopted not just into a family...but into a profession. Helen
and Walter were both in the permanent hair removal business. Since 1948
his parents Walter and Helen Kunze started an electrolysis business (for 50
years) in their home. His mom Helen had roots in the electrology profession since 1890,
as her uncles were pioneers in the electrolysis industry.
Having the luxury of being adopted is the reason that Lorenzo has enjoyed the
many children that he and his wife Martha have mentored, educated and become legal guardianship to
over the years. He actively supports adoption and foster care agencies that
assist orphaned and abandoned children.
Lorenzo is "paying it back" or "paying it forward" to what was once given to him and he is loving every minute of
it. Lorenzo believes that children today need role models, an example and/or a
friend that will guide them through that winding and narrow path...called life.
"Not all of the children that Martha and I have brought into our
family have made it through the
difficult times...but we do know the majority of them appreciate the time and
effort we have given them and the guidance that we have provided".
Lorenzo has been likened to a cactus...surviving where most cannot. Yes, prickly at
times, beautiful at moments. Solid as a rock, soft as clay...but, strong with
heart and soul.
____________________________________________________________________
In addition to his work at Rocky Mountain Laser College, Mr. Kunze has
been an owner and consultant at thirty privately-owned laser hair removal
practices in
Colorado, New York, Washington, Florida, Nevada, Texas, Georgia, Hawaii, Mexico,
Central America and Europe. Lorenzo has taught laser hair removal techniques to more than
two thousand medical and aesthetic professionals.
Lorenzo Kunze has served on four electrology boards during the past few decades, working as a liaison with
accreditation boards and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, initiating policy and procedure protocol for
certified laser specialists.
He has served as district representative for the International Guild of Professional Electrologists from 1987 to 1989, and
as a director of the Colorado Association of Electrologists. In 1992 the American Electrology Association appointed Mr. Kunze as the editor for the Journal of Electrology
and then in 1997 selected him to represent the Association at a conference in
Japan.

| Objective
(top of page) |
I, like many of you, realize
that now is a very special time in the lives of medical and cosmetic
professionals - as consumers are requesting, desiring and needing cutting
edge technology.
Laser procedures are now a common occurrence and
professionals need to be properly trained if they are going to survive in
our everyday-work place.
The opportunity is now in your court, so take full
advantage of it... luxuriate in its benefits...learn it correctly and most
importantly...
ENJOY, ENJOY, ENJOY
life to its' fullest!
My present objective is to educate, promote and elevate cosmetic and medical professionals to the top of their fields. Through
proper EDUCATION, the marriage of cosmetic and medical applications...will, can and has been a benefit for both the consumer and the allied health professional.
I have devoted over 35 years of building a career consisting of cosmetic and medical applications and procedures designed to
enhance the electrology, cosmetic and medical profession. By teaching, working and associating with electrologists,
aestheticians, physicians and fellow allied health educators', we can see the advantages of developing proper medical protocol.
These advancements, benefits and protocols will assist all enhancement specialists’ into the new millennium.
I have endeavored
to be on the cutting edge of medical technology, cosmetic advancements and medical education and at the same time learning,
educating and serving the public. Our patients/clients have recognized the psychological, cosmetic and medical rewards that are
produced from our works. This has established in us an outstanding image, impeccable credibility and long-lasting confidence
that makes it all worth providing.
My lifetime objective is to live life to its’ very fullest with an equal balance in my family, my work and my God (because of my imperfections...they
are not always in that order)! |

Professional Medical Electrologist, Electrology Educator,
Inventor, Writer,
Laser Specialist and International Speaker -
written by
- Jonathan Lee, MD
(protégé)
It is with utmost pride that I write regarding my
mentor, my sensei and my teacher.
With experience spanning over 35 years,
Lorenzo Kunze has
dedicated his entire career to the field of permanent hair reduction (electrology and laser).
During this time he has owned and supervised eight (8) electrology practices and
fourteen (14) different laser practices throughout the world. The past
thirteen (15) years have been devoted to laser
research and its' development for permanent hair reduction. His diligence has paid off as the
laser technology has greatly enhanced the electrology profession and
visa-versa. Because of
Lorenzos extensive expertise, the Rocky Mountain Laser College (RMLC) is now over a
three (3) million dollar a year - hair removal practice.
Lorenzo has utilized the skills of medical
professionals throughout his long career, which ensures a proper and
medical environment to all of his patients and clients. In the past 10
years RMLC,
oversaw six (6) practices in Denver, Lakewood, Littleton, Colorado Springs,
Englewood, and Harvard Park. Just a few of the physicians involved with
Lorenzo are: Stephen Eubanks, MD - Brian Aikin, MD - Lester Cramer, MD - Dennis Kotelko, MD
- Thomas Castellano, MD.
Some of the laser
practices provide patients
with services such as laser hair removal, laser tattoo removal,
laser spider/leg vein removal, laser vascular lesion removal and laser
skin resurfacing, All of
which make the RMLC a full service laser center.
Also, Lorenzo has
in the past assisted
as an owner and consultant at fourteen (84) privately owned laser hair removal
practices located
throughout the United States, Mexico and Europe. Besides his normal activities as an
administrator, technician and educator. Lorenzo has taught laser hair removal
techniques to over 100 medical and electrology professionals in over 20 different
states and 15 different countries. Lorenzo still speaks at over 20
educational discourses throughout the year, charging only his flight and
expenses. He understands the importance of giving and the benefits of
receiving.
Mr. Lorenzo Kunze has served on four (4) different electrology boards during the past
15 years, working as a liaison for the Center for Disease Control, initiating
policy and procedure protocol for hair removal specialists'. For the past decade the Colorado
Association of Electrologists (CAE) specified that Lorenzo be their State Director. The
American Electrology Association (AEA) appointed Mr. Kunze as the editor for the Journal of
Electrology in 1992 and then in 1997 selected him from a pool of electrology educators and
was invited to represent the AEA in Japan. In 1987 Lorenzo
was nominated as a district representative for the International Guild of Professional
Electrologists (IGPE) and served for two (2) years. In 1999 the
Society of Clinical and Medical Electrologists' (SCME) selected
Lorenzo to speak specifically on "lasers" at their annual
convention. This educational module not only earned the attendees CEU and
CME credits, but a different approach on how lasers can change the outcomes
of their careers. Lorenzo
has personally trained over 150 members of the American Society of Laser
Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), the art of laser hair removal. This is
evidence that he appreciates accurate knowledge, patient care and the love
to teach. Kudos
to Lorenzo Kunze for his vision, desire and experience. VISION
- his dreams, his drive and his devotion! DESIRE
- to achieve, triumph, prosper and to succeed! EXPERIENCE
- to appreciate his training, to grow from his mistakes, and to acknowledge that
